  • Clinical pain science. This is so therapists can understand the why and how patients experience pain. 
  • Anatomy review. I keep this brief and to the point, so therapists don’t get overwhelmed with minutiae that isn’t necessary.
  • Risk factors, co-morbidities, prognosis.
  • Assessment protocols and recognizing red flags.
  • The clinical process. How to engage in shared decision making. This includes a communication framework and deciding on what approach to therapy is likely to be the most effective.
  • Improve understanding of various presentations for pain and dysfunction in the low back and pelvis. Includes discogenic pain, sciatica (radiculopathy), peripheral neuropathy, strains, sprains, visceral pain, plus more
  • Learn how to incorporate an evidence-based reasoning framework into your massage therapy treatments
  • Distinguishing between the role of tissue health, biomechanics, sensory mechanisms and psychosocial factors and their influence on the person's pain experience.
  • Increase utilization of self-management strategies/home care
